Direct Care Residential Support Staff
Is this a full time position?
Initially, we are looking for part-time employees who have a flexible schedule. There may be full-time positions available in the future.
How many hours would I work per week?
The work schedule depends on the needs of the House. Typically our staff is assigned to work a regular set of hours weekly in order to provide consistency of care.
How often will I be paid?
Our payroll is processed bi-weekly.
What is the hourly rate of pay? The hourly rate is commensurate with experience; however, our pay range is typically $10.00 per hour to start (with no previous experience). Awake Night Staff typically receives a night shift differential.
What will I do?
You will work with adults who each have a level of developmental disability. You will assist them with routine daily living skills including eating, bathing, toileting, dressing, housekeeping, etc. You will help them learn new skills according to their individualized goal plans. You will show them compassionate and loving care within a faith-based environment.
Where will I work?
You will work in our homes located in the York area.
Is there training provided?
Yes, Jessica and Friends Community is committed to enabling our staff to provide the highest quality of care to the individuals we serve. Therefore, training is viewed as an important part of our ministry.
Are there any physical restrictions or requirements to this position?
There routinely is a need to help individuals with various physical activities and sometimes this may include lifting or re-positioning individuals in bed, etc. You should be able to lift 50 pounds without difficulty.
What other qualifications are there for this position?
You must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Respite Support Staff
Is this a full-time position? Initially, we are looking for part-time employees who have a flexible schedule. There may be full-time positions available in the future.
How many hours would I work per week?
The work schedule depends on the needs of families you are assigned to. Typically our staff is assigned to work with the same individuals on a regular basis in order to provide consistency of care. Depending on needs of each family, and how flexible your schedule can be, you could work any variety of hours in a given week.
How often will I be paid?
Our payroll is processed bi-weekly.
What is the hourly rate of pay?
The hourly rate is commensurate with experience; however, our pay range is typically $10.00 - $12.00 hour for In-Home Respite Support Staff.
Who typically receives respite care services?
Jessica and Friends Community routinely provides respite care services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Ages of these individuals range from elementary school aged children to middle aged adults. The level and extent of disability ranges across the spectrum and depends on each individual assignment.
Where will I work?
You will work in the homes of individuals receiving respite care services. You must be able to provide your own transportation to and from each assignment. These assignments are typically located within York and Adams County.
Will I receive reimbursement for mileage to and from these respite assignments?
Yes, mileage is reimbursed at the rate of $0.35/mile.
